Neutral and Earthing

Both Neutral and earthing represent 0 volts, but there is a difference between these terms based on their application. one more term grounding also represents 0 volts, but for now, we only focus on Neutral and earthing.

Neutral

As we all know that electricity only flows in a closed circuit, so neutral provides a returning path for electric current and to complete the electric circuit. if the current coming from the phase not go back to neutral our circuit will not work.

Earthing

It is a safety feature that saves human flesh from electric shock. Earthing will only if our appliance is earthed and use a three-pin plug and our house wire also consist of the earth wire. suppose if accidentally touch the body of an electric appliance and if the live wire touches the body of then all current will flow through the earth wire and we will not get any shock.
