Before involving in field or subject we need to first understand the basics of that subject. every person studying electrical engineering must know the three basic components used in this field. these components are almost used in almost every today modern tech from smartphones to space crafts.
Resistance
So what the reality is that it is an opposition to the flow of electrons. thus causing resistance in the flow of electrical current. the S.I unit of resistance is the ohm(Ω).in simple electrical circuits
R=V/I
where R is resistance, V is the voltage across a conductor and I is the current flowing through the conductor.
we can calculate the resistance of conductor by
R=ρl/A
where l is the length of wire and A is a cross-sectional area of wire.meanwhile ρ is variable and different for different materials.
Resistance also increases with an increase in temperature of the conductor.
Inductor
Inductor also called coil is a conductor in the shape of helix or coil.it is a passive device and it stores the energy in it the form of a magnetic field. the S.I unit of the inductor is henry(H). Inductor always opposes the sudden change of current.
when an electrical current is flowing through the coil it generates a magnetic field. Emf generated by the inductor is given by the equation
e=Ldi/dt
e is Emf generated, L is inductance
e is the voltage across inductor at a specific point is given by the above equation.
Capacitor
the capacitor is the opposite of inductor.capacitor has two metallic parallel plates separated by dielectric.capacitor stores energy in the form of electric field.S.I unit of capacitance is the farad(F).
like inductor-capacitor opposes the sudden change in voltage.
it stores electric charges on its parallel plates.capacitance of a capacitor is given by
C=q/V
C is capacitance, V is the voltage across capacitor and q is the charge stored
i=Cdv/dt
i is instantaneous current through capacitor at a specific point is given by the above equation.
